Foreign Minister has expressed deep grief over the death of Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, former mayor of Sylhet City Corporation (CSIC) and a member of the central executive committee of the Awami League. In a condolence message, the foreign minister said, "The country has lost a prominent politician as the leader of the people, Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, has passed away." Badruddin Ahmad Kamran was the beloved leader and guardian of the soil and people of Sylhet. He was the foremost in the happiness and sorrow of the people of Sylhet. Badruddin Ahmed Kamran always came forward with the problems of poor people.

He said, ‘He was a leading fighter in all the movements of Sylhet. He has made an outstanding contribution to the politics of Sylhet Awami League. In his death, we lost a militant leader who was the bearer of Bangabandhu's ideology and the void created in the politics of Sylhet is irreparable. ' Dr. Momen prays for the forgiveness of the departed soul.
